Love König: Kaliningrad Regional Museum of History and Art
The Kaliningrad Regional Museum of History and Arts is coeval with the region. The museum is located in the now-restored Stadthalle building, an architectural monument of the early 20th century.
The museum exposition gives insight into the history and natural resources of the region, and also tells about the course of the military operations in this territory during the Great Patriotic War and the formation of the Kaliningrad Region.
A significant part of the collection of the archaeological hall comprises of exhibits from the Museum of Prussia, once considered lost, but finally found in the nineties. The war hall is dedicated to World War II. Samples of weapons, military uniforms and other items associated with these events can be found here. The hall has a diorama of the “Storming of Königsberg”.
The “Horizons of Memory” hall is dedicated to the post-war history of the region. The exhibition displays items related to the life and way of life of the first settlers, the products of the first Kaliningrad enterprises, including products made of amber, as well as dismantled monuments to Lenin.
